This is the foyer of a family home.

The clients wanted a slightly more formal entry than the white on white that preceeded the work.

These walls are a deep burgundy rag over fire engine red base coat.

The great room was 20' at the gables with a mezzanine running around three walls. Originally painted an off white, the room looked quite big and a little stark.

Here, I washed a tinted burnt sienna' glaze over a golden base coat.

The effect was a greatly "warmed up" room with softened walls and a cozy feel in spite of the grand size.
